Sonny Landreth

Whenever I think of slide guitar there are two people that come to mind. One is Johnny Winter, the other is Sonny Landreth. He plays a searing, screaming slide. A lot of what he plays is run thru a Leslie Speaker (a speaker that rotates at variable speeds, producing a Doppler effect that sounds great . Was originally designed for church organs). These shots were made at the Barns of Wolf Trap, Vienna, VA. 1996.
