Danny Gatton: I only got to photograph Danny once, unfortunately, I was only able to see him play once as well. These were made at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. January 5th 1994. The same night that Billy Windsor died. Danny appeared very sad on stage, which is understandable, they were close friends. His playing put goose-bumps on my arms more than once that evening. A few years later I talked with Jay Monterose (Danny's close friend and Guitar doctor) about that evening. At the time we didn't know each other , but we were sitting inches apart. He recalls that Dannys' Leslie speaker was producing sound and tones that he'd never heard before - spiritual in nature.
Danny Gatton has changed my life by inadvertently bringing me into a close friendship with his mother, Norma Mousie' Gatton and Jay Monterose. Both of these beautiful people have enriched my world in more ways that I am able to count. Danny - I wish I could thank you.
